Scranton Swap

April 29, 2025

DUNMORE, Pa. — This weekend, sustainability and style are coming together in the Electric City area with the return of the Scranton Swap, a beloved community event that encourages eco-friendly fashion and local connection. On Saturday, May 3, from noon to 4 p.m., the Dunmore Community Center will host the spring edition of this popular clothing exchange.

Organized with simplicity and community spirit in mind, Scranton Swap gives attendees a chance to refresh their wardrobes—without spending a dime or contributing to fast fashion waste. The rules are straightforward and accessible to all:

  1. Bring up to 10 clean, gently used, or new clothing items or accessories.
  2. Upon check-in, you’ll receive 1 ticket per item.
  3. Use those tickets to “shop” from a wide variety of donated apparel displayed on racks and tables.
  4. Exchange your tickets for your selected items at checkout.
  5. Stick around to browse offerings from local vendors, adding to the festive, market-style atmosphere.

It’s a swap, not a sale—encouraging people to view clothing through the lens of reuse and community sharing. For many, it’s not just about finding a great jacket or a stylish pair of jeans; it's about taking a step toward more sustainable living.

Whether you’re a fashion enthusiast looking for a wardrobe refresh, an eco-conscious citizen reducing textile waste, or simply someone who loves a good community event, Scranton Swap offers something for everyone.

Mark your calendars for May 3 and join the movement—where fashion meets sustainability, and neighbors help neighbors look and feel great.
